In Toronto, in many cases, garden suites can be up to 1,936 gross square feet, including basement.

In Brampton, the maximum size is much more limited, to between 376 sq. ft. and 861 sq. ft.

In Windsor, the minimum size is 430 square feet and the maximum is 1,076 square feet.

In Guelph, the maximum size is 861 square feet, with a maximum of two bedrooms.
